How to Define Objectives and Tasks for a Mission Campaign
What matters in a mission campaign is how clearly it is structured. If objectives and tasks are not clearly defined, the campaign becomes confusing for players and inconsistent in execution. Players should always understand what they need to do without interpretation.
Defining Objectives
Before creating any tasks, you need to decide what the mission is trying to achieve. The objective is the “reason” the mission exists.
Common objectives include:
Encouraging players to make a deposit.
Increasing betting activity.
Encouraging players to return and play again.
Getting inactive players to become active again.
Tasks Overview
Tasks are the core elements of a mission campaign. They define exactly what the player needs to complete in order to progress or finish the mission.
Deposit Task
Completed when a player deposits an amount equal to or above a defined threshold, making it a simple entry action commonly used for onboarding or first engagement missions.
Turnover Task
Completed based on the total amount wagered by the player, and can be achieved through many small bets or fewer large bets, focusing on overall betting activity
Gameplay Tasks
Single Wins Task
Completed by counting the number of times a player wins a bet, where a win is any return greater than zero.
Win Multiplier Task
Completed when a player achieves wins that are multiples of their bet (e.g., a 10x win means winning €10 from a €1 bet), and can be configured to require this condition to be met a defined number of times, such as achieving a 10x win twice.
Wins in a Row Task
Completed when a player achieves consecutive winning bets, where any return greater than zero counts as a win, and is set up with a required streak length, such as 3, 5, or 7 wins in a row, focusing on streak-based gameplay moments.
Play Task
Completed based on the number of game rounds or spins played, for example, 50, 100, 500, or 1000 rounds, measuring play activity rather than bet value.
How to Translate Objectives into Tasks
Objective | Tasks | Outcome |
|---|---|---|
Deposits | Deposit Tasks | Simple and direct player action focused on making a deposit. |
Gameplay/betting activity | Play Tasks, Turnover Tasks | Encourages continued play and longer sessions through sustained betting activity. |
Excitement / high engagement moments | Win Multiplier Tasks, Wins in a Row Tasks | Creates more dynamic and unpredictable gameplay moments that increase excitement. |
Frequent interaction | Single Wins Tasks, Play Tasks | Drives repeated smaller actions throughout gameplay, increasing interaction frequency. |
Best Practices
Keep missions simple and easy to understand
Avoid using too many different task types in one mission
Make sure the difficulty feels fair for the target players
Match tasks to the type of players you are targeting
Always check that the mission logic makes sense from a player's perspective
